Ethics for OT Providers: 1 Hour
Occupational therapy professionals are regularly confronted with a variety of ethical and moral dilemmas throughout their career including interactions with other staff and with patients. In this course, we differentiate ethics, morals, and the law and learn to apply the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics to case scenarios. Occupational therapists (OTs) and occupational therapist assistants (OTAs) will gain an understanding of their ethical responsibilities and steps to take to resolve ethical dilemmas.

Christopher Meketansky OTR/L graduated from Stony Brook University in 2017 with a Master of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy. He received training in manual therapy, specialized treatment for individuals with degenerative neurological disorders and post-stroke neurorehabilitation. He has worked in skilled nursing and home healthcare settings with experience treating patients with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, balance impairments, and a myriad of other conditions impacting the older adult population.
