This course aims to provide nurses, EMS professionals, and providers with an in-depth understanding of certified stroke centers. With over 2,500 certified stroke centers in the U.S., certification plays a critical role in optimizing stroke recognition and treatment, reducing variation in care, and improving patient outcomes. This course will explain how each tier of stroke center is defined, including Acute Stroke Ready Hospitals (ASRHs), Primary Stroke Centers (PSCs), Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Centers (TCSCs), and Comprehensive Stroke Centers (CSCs). Participants will gain knowledge of performance measures related to each stroke center type and the 8 Ds of stroke care, which are fundamental to stroke care.
