Maintenance Therapy: Indications, Delivery, and Documentation
Maintenance therapy is a covered service for Medicare beneficiaries and can provide a critical intervention to maintain a patient's function and quality of life. However, many rehabilitation therapists are unsure of which patients are appropriate, when they are appropriate, or what best practices are in creating a maintenance therapy plan of care. This course provides an overview of the value of maintenance therapy, guidelines on which clinical presentations are appropriate for a maintenance plan, and considerations for documentation, including how to write goals and support the need for skilled care.
