Addiction/Substance Use/Tobacco Cessation
All licensees must take 2 hours of CME on the Screening, Brief Intervention & Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) one time and these hours must be completed on or before the 2025 renewal period. Any licensee may use SBIRT training to satisfy 2 hours of any other CME requirement established by the Board.

Bioterrorism
Proof of 4 hours bioterrorism AMA Category 1 continuing medical education (CME) relating to the medical consequences of an act of terrorism that involves the use of a weapon of mass destruction.

Opioids and Controlled Substances
These 2 hours of CME on the Misuse and Abuse of Controlled Substances, Prescribing of Opioids, or Addiction only apply to MDs or PAs who are registered to dispense controlled substances pursuant to NRS 453.231. See NRS 630.2535. Also, any licensee may use such training to satisfy 2 hours of any other CME requirement established by the Board.

Two (2) hours completed in medical ethics or pain management and/or addiction care for Medical Doctors and Physician Assistants
Medical doctors whose specialty is psychiatry, per NRS 630.253, you are required to complete a minimum of two (2) hours CME in the area of suicide prevention and awareness.
