The Role of the Medical Assistant in the Delivery of Team-Based Care
Care provided to a defined population, known as population management, or population medicine has become the predominant focus for payment reform over the past several years. In order to meet objectives of the IHI’s Triple Aim, healthcare organizations must improve the health of populations rather than focus on individual needs and costs. The evolving role of medical assistants (MAs) places them in a prime position to influence improved population health.
The goal of this course is to equip MAs with knowledge of their roles and responsibilities for supporting population health delivery models.
