A youth worker plays an important role in the juvenile justice system. A youth worker is responsible for providing for the safety, security, and well-being of justice-involved youth adjudicated to a custodial setting. This course will provide staff providing direct care/supervision to youth in confinement facilities with an overview of the common functions and tasks performed by youth workers and descriptions of traits of an effective youth worker. Additionally, you will learn ways for youth workers to maintain ethical boundaries.
