Dr. Chiurazzi is a licensed clinical psychologist and core faculty at the California School of Forensic Studies at Alliant International University in Sacramento. She has taught courses in psychopathology and treatment of mental disorders with focus on offender populations. Prior to teaching at Alliant International University, Dr. Chiurazzi worked for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation where she facilitated interdisciplinary teams that include correctional officers and managers while providing mental health services to offenders with serious mental health disorders. Other responsibilities included in-service training for correctional staff about mental illness and managing inmates with mental illness. Dr. Chiurazzi retired from CDCR after serving as Director of Clinical Services for the department’s mental health program.
