Person-centered planning is a process used to understand how a person wants their life to be. Its goal is to identify the supports the person needs to reach their goals. It is different from traditional approaches to developing service plans because the person drives the process as much as possible. In this course, you will learn about strategies you can use to develop a person-centered plan. This includes how to prepare for and hold a planning meeting, how to develop goals and support strategies from that meeting, and how to manage the plan after writing it. The goal of this course is to introduce QIDPs in IDD service settings to key concepts used in person-centered planning.
