Oxygen is a basic need for all humans. Some children and adolescents may require supplemental oxygen if they cannot get enough oxygen in their bodies through normal breathing. This course will discuss why children and adolescents require oxygen therapy, the physiological and psychosocial impacts associated with oxygen use, and the assessments and monitoring necessary to ensure adequate oxygenation is obtained. It will also discuss airway management and emergencies that occur in children receiving oxygen therapy.
