It describes how altered cellular and tissue biology can result from adaptation, injury, neoplasia, and diseases. It examines manifestations of cellular injury, including accumulations of substances; changes in substance transport across cell membranes; changes in lipid, protein, and carbohydrate metabolism; and production of excessive waste.
