Instructor: Amy Lawson, OTR/L, CKTPCasey is a native New Yorker who aspired to be a physical therapist since the sixth grade job fair. Her plan turned into passion for rehabilitation therapies as she earned her Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Simmons College in Boston MA. After graduation, Casey uprooted to the southeast and began her practice in outpatient orthopedics. Eager to master her skills she completed a post-profession residency program and earned her board certification in orthopedic physical therapy. Along her post-professional education, she also became certified in advanced manual therapy, dry needling, and vestibular rehabilitation. Casey strived to maintain a diverse practice in addition to her specialization and has worked clinically within SNF, IRF, and home health settings with patients across the lifespan. Now as a SME writer for Relias, she hopes to inspire others to also pursue advanced practices of clinical knowledge and evidence-based medicine to deliver excellent care.
Amy lives in Raleigh, NC and has worked as a home health occupational therapist for 11 years but has a strong background in neuro treatment and kinesiotaping and loves to be able to apply this knowledge to her home health clients. Amy is a North Carolina native and loves college football and basketball, where she can pull for her favorite team, the UNC Tarheels.
