Nervous System: Extracranial, Peripheral, and Autonomic Nervous System Procedures

This course provides an overview of the diagnostic and therapeutic procedures performed on the extracranial, peripheral, and autonomic nervous system that are classified in the Nervous System subsection in the Surgery section of the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) code set. These procedures include injections, nerve blocks, chemodenervation, excision, neurorrhaphy, and neurostimulator procedures. This course also introduces the learner to the format, guidelines, and common modifiers pertaining to these nervous system surgical procedure codes in CPT. The course will focus on identifying the appropriate code for extracranial, peripheral, and autonomic nervous system procedures using case studies and scenarios. A current copy of the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®), Professional Edition is strongly recommended to optimize your understanding of the content covered.
