Managing Medications for Canada: The Basics
In this course, you will learn the differences between administering medication and helping people self-administer their medications, as well as what the roles, responsibilities, and goals are of unregulated care providers (UCPs). This course goes over some basic terminology, common medications, and side effects. You need to keep in mind the importance of following your scope of practice guidelines and organizational policies throughout this course. It is also important to remember that practice guidelines, legislation, and regulations differ from one province to another.
The goal of this course is to familiarize non-licensed direct care workers with guidelines for assisting with medications.
