As a healthcare worker, you face many different hazards within your professional environment. Caring for a person who demonstrates aggressive behaviors is just one of those hazards. People with aggressive behaviors have the potential to harm not only you but themselves and others. To prevent harm, you must quickly intervene to de-escalate the situation. This means that you should know how to use strategies and techniques to reduce a person’s aggression. In this course, you will learn ways to recognize, prevent, and manage aggressive behaviors to protect yourself and others.
The goal of this course is to educate general staff in post-acute care settings about recognizing, preventing, and managing aggressive behaviors.
