This course will provide an overview of trauma-informed care. It will discuss how to incorporate a trauma-informed approach into ABA practice while still remaining conceptually systematic and abiding by the Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts (BACB, 2020). The goal of this course is to provide behavior analysis professionals in clinical practice with an overview of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), the importance of screening for client ACEs, and recommendations for how to select behavior intervention strategies based on trauma-informed care principles.

Course Summary
Gabi Morgan, Ph.D., BCBA-D is an Assistant Professor in Applied Behavior Analysis at Bay Path University. She received her Doctorate in ABA from Endicott College where her research focused on using time-based schedules to prevent challenging behavior in preschoolers with backgrounds of traumatic events. Over the last 25 years, she has sought to expand her knowledge and practice of ABA in her work with children of all ages and skill levels, their families, and in the training of others in ABA. She is dedicated to the dissemination of ABA and in guiding students of behavior analysis toward meaningful careers and a deeper understanding of the science of behavior.Writer: Rhonda Davin, Ph.D., BCBA-D
Dr. Rhonda Davin is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst with over 25 years of experience in the fields of developmental disabilities and autism. She has served the field as a teacher, college professor, consultant, and expert witness. She started Behavior Consulting Services which provided direct behavior analytic services to children with autism and their families for 10 years. She has supervised and mentored behavior analysts and service providers currently practicing in the field today. Dr. Davin has also provided technical assistance for large-scale organizational change efforts in the area of Positive Behavior Supports. She is currently working at Relias Learning as the BCBA Subject Matter Expert, Content Writer, and Continuing Education Coordinator for Relias to the Behavior Analysis Certification Board.
