Accurate ICD-10-CM code assignment is now more important in a SNF/LTC setting than it ever has been in the past. In order to appropriately assign accurate ICD-10-CM codes you must have an understanding of not only the General coding conventions and guidelines, but also the chapter specific coding guidelines. In this module, we will introduce the learner to the Chapter specific guidelines for the majority of chapters contained within the ICD-10-CM coding manual. Not all chapter specific guidelines will be discussed, but a focus on those that may be most commonly encountered in the post-acute SNF/LTC facility.
It is recommended that learners complete the Relias ICD-10-CM Coding Basics course prior to taking this module.
The content in this course is applicable to MDS staff, billing professionals, in the SNF/LTC setting.
