Alia Lutz, BA, BSN, RN, has over 10 years of experience as a Registered Nurse with a focus on cardiothoracic, respiratory, and coronary care. She has also had experience in Med-Surg, step-down and ICU. Prior to joining Relias as a SME and Content Writer for acute care, she provided virtual education and injection training on injectable biologics to patients, reported adverse events, and was a patient advocate. She has collaborated with peers on creating job aids, writing policies, and improving quality of care and documentation. LaToya Freeman, Clinical Nurse Specialist, has been a change agent with the University of Michigan since 2017. Dr. Freeman completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2021. In her role as a CNS, she has worked with multidisciplinary teams to provide quality care to patients through a multitude of venues including the bedside, meetings, mentoring, teaching, public speaking, and evidence-based practice. Certified as a Holistic nurse, she has worked to develop wellness initiatives including implementation of recharge rooms. LaToya led the initiative to become the first in the state of Michigan to receive the PRISM award. She helped to develop a CNS ladder for advancement, educational series, and an APRN spotlight. Dr. Freeman has presented both locally and nationally on a variety of quality improvement initiatives supporting the value of the CNS role. LaToya developed and is the Founding President of Ann Arbor Black Nurses Association. She co-leads the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee at the University of Michigan.
