Home Health Patient Notices

This course will discuss each of the notices that your home health agency is required to provide to your patients. You will learn what the Notice of Privacy Practices is and when to provide this notice. You will also learn about the Advance Beneficiary Notice of Noncoverage (ABN), the Home Health Change of Care Notice (HHCCN), the Notice of Medicare Non-Coverage (NOMNC), and the Detailed Explanation of Non-Coverage (DENC). This will include how and when to complete and provide these notices. The goal of this course is to provide nurses in home health with guidance for completing required patient notification notices.

Jennifer has over 30 years of clinical and teaching experience, and her areas of expertise are critical care and home health. She is certified as an OASIS Specialist- Clinical (COS-C). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Virginia in 1993 and her Master of Science in Nursing from The University of North Carolina, Greensboro in 1996. Her professional practice in education is guided by a philosophy borrowed from Florence Nightingale’s Notes on Nursing, “I do not pretend to teach her how, I ask her to teach herself, and for this purpose, I venture to give her some hints.”
