For many licensed practical nurses (LPNs), the idea of performing as a supervisor is an unknown experience. Often, the LPN is not prepared for the stress of supervisory responsibilities. The goal of this course is to familiarize nursing professionals in any care setting on training and guidance on the transition into a supervisory role. This LPN supervisory course is divided into four separate parts to make it easier for you. Please note: If you are licensed in Florida, you may want to review this specific chapter in the Florida Administrative Code (FAC) using the link provided in the Resources section of this course.
• You will receive a certificate after each of the four parts of the course for that section.
• Upon completing all four parts, you will receive a certificate that covers all 30 hours and meets the requirements for Florida LPN supervision.
• You should print the RN Companion Guide and give it to the registered nurse (RN) supervising you during this process.
• You should discuss each of the activities completed in this course with your RN supervisor.
Please note:
Since LPN supervision in Florida residential care facilities is closely monitored by the Agency for Health Care Administration, this course has been developed per the regulatory requirements in rule 64B9-16.001-16.004.
The content in this course applies to nursing professionals in any setting to introduce the skills needed for supervision.
