Every person who works in healthcare, no matter what role or setting, must follow professional standards of conduct, which are informed by four main ethical principles. This requires an understanding of these principles, how they apply to an individual’s professional role, and how to resolve ethical conflicts when they arise.
The content of this course is applicable to sterile processing (SP) professionals who work in the central sterile services department (CSSD). It is designed to educate these individuals on the principles of healthcare ethics as they apply to their roles and strategies for resolving ethical conflicts. It also provides insight into the benefits of ethical conduct to patients, employees, physicians, organizations, and others.
The goal of this course is to equip sterile processing professionals with the knowledge ethics in central sterile processing.
