Basic human rights and freedoms, identified under our Constitution, as well as rights reflected in federal, provincial, and territorial laws are rights guaranteed to all Canadians. These human rights and freedoms continue when someone becomes a resident of a long-term care home. As a staff member, you have a key role in ensuring that the rights of your residents are protected. In this course, you will learn about these basic rights and your responsibility to ensure that they are met for all residents in your care.
