DEI: Multicultural Care for the Organization

Green Clock Hours: 1.00

Historically, behavioral health organizations have not effectively met the needs of the diverse U.S. population. Without access to culturally responsive care, there are barriers to services and significant health disparities for diverse populations. Training, staffing, and operational practices within behavioral health organizations must reflect those needs. They should support care that is culturally responsive and embraces inclusivity and diversity.

This course will provide you with specific strategies your organization can use to provide effective multicultural care and improve outcomes for all individuals.

The goal of this course is to provide knowledge to addictions, behavioral health counseling, case management/care management, marriage and family therapy, nursing, psychology, and social work professionals in health and human services settings to create culturally responsive and inclusive organizations.

This course assumes you have a foundational knowledge of multicultural care, such as an understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, cultural competence, bias, minority stress, trauma-informed care, etc. If you need more in-depth information about these topics, search the Relias course catalog.
