Adjustment of any of these parameters may affect image contrast, the image’s spatial resolution, or the apparent noise on the image, and at the same time possibly affect the dose of ionizing radiation administered to the patient. Artifacts due to positioning or technical errors can also severely degrade image quality in CT.
