This course is the culmination of the knowledge and skills you have gained around crisis management. These concepts will be incorporated into the following simulation to provide you with a real-world experience that challenges you to use the knowledge and skills you have gained. You will also be presented with a model you can use to help you make critical decisions for managing a crisis. This course includes a video representation of a person experiencing a crisis. Please be aware that the portrayal of the individual in crisis is one of many possible ways that a crisis may be experienced, and is not intended as a universal representation.

Bruce Davis, Ph.D. is the Director of Behavioral and Psychological Services for the Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (DIDD). He has 27 years of experience providing services to persons with intellectual disabilities and co-occurring behavioral health disorders. He is a Licensed Senior Psychological Examiner, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Dr. Davis has served as Regional Behavior Analysis Director for DIDD and was also Director of TN-START, a model crisis intervention program for persons with co-occurring disorders. He has also worked as an Assistant Professor in the Vanderbilt University Department of Psychiatry and directed the Behavioral Health and Intellectual Disabilities Clinic supported by the Merck Fund. Dr. Davis is a past President of the Tennessee Association for Behavior Analysis and served as President of TN-NADD (an association for persons with developmental disabilities and mental health needs) from 2005 to 2008 and 2011 to present. Monique Kahn, Psy.D. received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Florida. She completed a pre-doctoral internship at Spokane Mental Health in Washington, which included specialty rotations in behavioral medicine and time-limited psychotherapies. She is licensed as a psychologist in Maine, where she was in private practice for 14 years, providing services to adult clients with varied presenting issues, but with particular emphasis on the treatment of anxiety disorders, the relationship between psychosocial stress and illness, insomnia, and coping with chronic illness. She has taught in the undergraduate psychology program at Husson University in Maine. In addition, she has worked as a content writer and psychology subject matter expert for several major educational publishing firms.
