Cardiovascular System: Transcatheter Procedures
Transcatheter procedures are diagnostic or therapeutic interventions in the arterial or venous systems to treat diseases such as uterine fibroid tumors and hepatic tumors. To properly code transcatheter procedures, you must have a fundamental understanding of the cardiovascular anatomy and the vascular families and the order of the vessels within the family. This course will focus on identifying the appropriate code in the Cardiovascular System Surgery subsection of the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) code set and correctly applying the coding guidelines and instructions for transcatheter procedures using case studies and scenarios.
