Cardiac Disease: A Payer's Perspective
People living with hypertension, coronary artery disease (CAD), and heart failure (HF) are among the highest cost members to a healthcare payer. People may have several of these conditions; having one comorbidity increases the risk of developing other. This is especially true if these conditions are not well-managed. This course will provide an overview of how to provide clinically-appropriate care, teach patients self-management techniques for their conditions, work with patients to create an action plan, and identify other factors that could impact their condition.

Elizabeth Kellerman, MSN, RN worked as a critical care nurse in an Intensive Care Unit of a community hospital and that experience provided significant training in caring for older adults. Her experience and knowledge led her to nursing education where she taught at a community college as she received her Master's in Nurse Education at Western Carolina University.
