Learning Objectives: Outline the anatomical terms used to describe joints and their movements. Compare the structure and function of the three main joint classifications and their principal subtypes. Specify the characteristics that synovial joints have in common. List various joint movements and the kinds of joints with which they are associated. Describe the movements by which synovial joints are classified. Name the factors important in joint stability.
