The first presentation will cover the most current published recommended operating procedures for conducting the 6-Minute Walk Test along with discussion of practical clinical considerations. Interpretation of 6-Minute Walk Test results will be discussed along with documentation considerations for an individualized treatment plan and for program outcome purposes. Case examples will be used to help enhance the learning experience. The difference between conducting a 6-Minute Walk Test and Oxygen Titration Study will also be addressed.
The second session is designed to help provide an overview of potential underlying contributing causes for exercise limitations in people with pulmonary conditions as well as discuss the impact of exercise training on cardiorespiratory fitness. Comparison of responses to exercise under normal healthy conditions versus diseased conditions will be incorporated along with case study examples to help illustrate key concepts.
The last webinar is designed to provide an overview of the most current published evidence-based guidelines and recommendations for prescribing exercise for people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in pulmonary rehab. Other disease specific considerations will be discussed. Case study examples will be incorporated to help enhance the learning experience.
