Pediatric Assessment for Clients with Learning Disabilities

Pediatric Assessment for Clients with Learning Disabilities

Assessment of children with known or suspected learning disabilities requires an in-depth understanding of factors contributing to their presentation. Using the appropriate screening and assessment tools can help direct treatment strategies and support the need for skilled interventions. This course provides occupational therapists with an overview of the most common learning disabilities and describes their role in the screening and assessment process for these disorders. Guidelines for choosing the most appropriate assessment tools, interpreting the results, and developing a treatment plan are discussed.
