OASIS-D1: Transfer and Discharge Items

OASIS-D1: Transfer and Discharge Items

This module discusses the transfer and discharge OASIS items. Many of the items on these assessments overlap with other assessments such as start of care and resumption of care. This allows you to compare any changes from the start of care to the end of the episode. In this course, you will review items that are either specific to the transfer and/or discharge OASIS assessments or items that have unique coding conventions for transfer and/or discharge assessments. Note: Many of the items included in these assessments such as items relating to activities of daily living which are also included in other non-transfer/discharge assessments are not discussed. If you need additional guidance on coding items not discussed in this course, other modules on OASIS coding are available in the Relias library. Unless otherwise noted, the information in this course was sourced from the OASIS-D Guidance Manual published by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS, 2018).
