Adults with diabetes are more likely than others to have heart disease or a stroke. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for adults with diabetes (CDC, 2019b). 74% of adults with diabetes have high blood pressure, which puts them at risk for heart disease (CDC, 2019b). A proper diet is a critically important aspect in managing both diabetes and heart health. This course presents the relationship between diabetes and cardiovascular health and offers appropriate lifestyle interventions to help manage health risks.
