Preventing Readmissions: Managing COPD in the Home Care Setting

Preventing Readmissions: Managing COPD in the Home Care Setting

The course gives nurses working in home care a review of a common pulmonary disease, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). After completing this course, nurses who care for those with COPD in the home care setting should be able to better understand current medical treatment, resulting in a higher level of care of these individuals and work to prevent readmission to an acute care facility. This course will also give you a brief overview of COPD, an understanding of physiological changes to the respiratory system as a person ages, and direction on how to provide a better quality of life for an affected individual.
