Chronic pelvic pain (CPP) is an umbrella term that may include many different diagnoses. It is defined as cyclical or noncyclical pain lasting for more than three to six months that causes functional deficits or requires medical or surgical treatment. CPP is often difficult to diagnose and treat due to the overlapping comorbidities associated with symptoms. This module guides physical therapists through the screening, examination, and treatment of patients who present to the orthopedic clinic with pelvic pain. Clinicians will also learn to identify when referral to other healthcare providers is needed.
