Section GG 2019 Update

CMS has implemented Section GG Functional Abilities and Goals across various provider types such as SNFs, IRFs, and Home Health agencies to comply with standardization requirements mandated by the IMPACT Act. Section GG measures a person’s functional ability in self-care and mobility items. It is important that therapy staff, primarily PT and OT, are familiar with these assessment items, definitions, and coding instructions to ensure accurate completion. This course focuses on the Section GG requirements related to the MDS 3.0 in the SNF setting.
