The Patient Driven Payment Model for SNFs

The finalized Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM) was released in the SNF PPS FY2019 Final Rule. The PDPM will fundamentally change the way that SNFs are reimbursed for Medicare Part A PPS services. This change will move the industry from a volume-based payment model to a patient characteristic-based one. This course will provide an overview of the new SNF payment model based on the published final rule. This course will discuss the key components on how the SNF PPS daily rate will be calculated, how and when the rate adjustments occur, as well as PPS assessment requirements under this new system.
