The course is taught by MINT trainer Todd Roberts. This 13-hour course meets the CABHA training requirements for the Introductory Course in Motivational Interviewing. This online course makes this training much more accessible and less expensive than the training currently offered. It includes: video-based instruction provided by the MINT trainer, interactive exercises, appropriate reading assignments on MI, an online test to document successful completion, and a certificate of completion for people who pass the online test.

Todd A. Roberts, MA, is the Training Officer for the Sixth Judicial District Department of Correctional Services in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He has served as a Probation/Parole Officer II, working for the past 13 years for both the Fifth Judicial District, Des Moines, Iowa and Sixth Judicial Distinct in Cedar Rapids Iowa. He has spent the last 5 years working with sex offenders in residential programming. Mr. Roberts is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) and has tried justice groups and educators across the United States. Among many former clients Mr. Roberts has provided contractual training for the American Probation & Parole and the Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections, Texas Criminal Justice Assistance Division, the El Paso Juvenile Court, and Cedar Rapids Community School District and Juvenile Court Services. Todd is also a trainer for the Motivational Interviewing Treatment Integrity (MITI) code 3.0 as well as being a Certified Victim impact Trainer. Mr. Roberts completed his Sex Offender Professional Certification through the Iowa Board for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers in February 2008.
