Multiple sclerosis (MS) is the most common non-traumatic neurological disorder diagnosed in young and middle-aged adults (Fox, 2014). While researchers have some understanding of the pathophysiology behind this disorder, its causes are not yet fully understood. MS cannot be cured or prevented at this time, but treatments are available to reduce its severity and delay progression. Therefore, it is essential for this condition to be diagnosed in the early stages so that treatment can be initiated to help curb its effects. Jennifer Moore, RN-BC, CDP, WCC started working in the senior care industry in 2000. She is a certified Gerontological Nurse, a Certified Dementia Practitioner, and Wound Care Certified.
