This webinar will present information about CPT Codes for ABA Intervention. An overview of the codes and examples of allowed services will be provdied as well as guidelines as to what those services must or must not include. Issues regarding billing and payment will be provided.

Provide examples of services covered by new Category I CPT codes for ABA interventions
Incorporate new CPT codes to billing practices
Provide examples of situations that reflect a variety of circumstances that arise when applying codes to individual situations.
Identify minimum requirements for using the codes as written
Understand the limitations of the codes as written vs. any individual contract under which they are working


Definition and background of CPT codes

Broad overview of major changes arising from the new codes and how this will impact providers over the near and medium terms

Major restrictions on code use that apply to all of the codes (ie what can and cannot be co-billed with SLP or psychological services

Review of each other the new codes including:

Core description

Minimum requirements to use the code (who needs to be present, and what services must be performed)

Code specific considerations for documentation and ethical billing

Common problems / denials that are expected

Matthew A.T. Lehman, MA, BCBA, is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (1-10-7411) and a Patient and Educational advocate with certifications in treating ADHD, Anxiety, and a Certified Independent Living Specialist (ILSC #18846). As the director of ABA practice organizations, Mr. Lehman oversee advanced forms of Clinical and Applied Behavior Analysis. He specializes in working with children, adolescents, and young adults with behavior problems and/or social skills deficits that interfere with daily life and functioning, which are commonly exhibited by individuals diagnosed with Autism and other behavior disorders including pediatric feeding dynamics issues. He regularly assists providers with major funding sources, and developed initial insurance company internal policies, code use, and regulations for SHARP HealthCare's ABA therapy through Psychiatric Centers at San Diego.  He continues to push forward in bringing cutting edge ABA treatments to all families that want or need them, working to raise the standard of care for individuals receiving ABA therapy and improving staff training.
