A growing number of states are legalizing medical marijuana for medical use. A number of other states are adding recreational use as a legal states. Although its use is legal within the laws of a state, it is illegal from a federal standpoint. CMS governs payment to hospices and is a federally funded agency. Hospices recognize the value of use of medical marijuana however may hestitate without guidance on its legality, indication and regulation.

Identify and discuss indications for which marijuana is efficacious, review patient cases, barriers to trials, and funding

She enjoys creating strategic plans to help her clients achieve their financial goals, while ensuring optimal patient care. Rosie earned her B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago. Instructor: Marisa Todd, PharmD, BCPS
As Director of Clinical Education at Enclara Pharmacia, Marisa is responsible for the coordination, integration, maintenance and advancement of Enclara Pharmacia’s education support services. Prior roles held by Marisa include manager of the West Deptford clinical call center, clinical pharmacist and new hire pharmacist trainer. She has 15 years of experience as a pharmacist in various fields including 11 years of hospice pharmacy experience, as well as clinical roles in both the hospital and home infusion settings. Throughout Marisa’s career, she has been continuously involved in the education and training of healthcare professionals and students. Marisa earned her doctor of pharmacy degree at Wilkes University, Nesbitt School of Pharmacy. She completed a 1-year post-graduate pharmacy practice residency program and maintains certification as a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS).
