Hospice in Long Term Care: Comfort, Pain, and Symptom Control in Hospice

Hospice in Long Term Care: Comfort, Pain, and Symptom Control in Hospice

Pain and symptom management at the end of life is central to the hospice philosophy but is often underrecognized and undermanaged in residents of long-term care (LTC) facilities. This course is for hospice and long-term care nurses and teaches the importance of pain and symptom management for quality care at the end of life. How and when staff should collaborate to achieve this important goal will be emphasized. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are an LPN taking this course, it is important to remember that you are NOT allowed to assess but rather can collect data. In this course, the use of any form of the term assess also refers to the collection of data.
