One type of personal care that some residents may need assistance with is perineal and catheter care. Caregivers must understand the proper procedures for perineal and catheter care to prevent contamination resulting in urinary tract infections. In this course, the learner will learn how to perform perineal care, including catheter care, as well as how to empty a drainage bag. This course corresponds to the Federal regulations F312 & F315.

Jennifer Moore, RN-BC, CDP, WCC started working in the senior care industry in 2000. She is a certified Gerontological Nurse, a Certified Dementia Practitioner, and Wound Care Certified.
