Most interviews are conducted in a room specifically designed for interviewing. Patrol officers and investigators on the street often have to conduct interviews in a public environment with a countless number of distractions that can prevent a successful outcome. This is the second course of a two part series. The first course, Statement Analysis, focused on linguistic patterns and words that indicate deception. This course will focus on techniques for interviewing that will assist the officer in determining deceit, and in eliciting truthful responses.
