The RAI Assessment Framework

The RAI Assessment Framework

Federal regulatory requirements require skilled nursing facilities to use mandated OBRA and Medicare assessments on all residents in Medicare and/or Medicaid certified skilled nursing facilities. These assessments provide a comprehensive data set that has been shown to increase patient outcomes and is also used in setting reimbursement rates for skilled nursing facilities. These are two very important reasons to be an expert at using and submitting these important documents. This course explains the various assessments, when they are required, what the look-back period consists of, and other specifics about the assessment process itself.
