This course begins by explaining the Seven Dimensions of Wellness and why our seniors need activities. Then you will be introduced to common activities. Next, we’ll discuss the activities department function so you will have a better understanding of how activities work and who is involved. You will also learn your role in activities. Lastly, we’ll discuss how you can help residents stay safe when participating in physical activities and the importance of soliciting resident feedback so we can help improve the activities program in your community.

Instructor: Jan Wilson, M.Ed., SPHR, SHRM-SCP
Jan serves as the Director of Learning Design and Outcomes for Relias Learning. Jan serves in a learning thought leadership role for the pre and post acute care industry, and provides client engagement and retention solutions both pre and post sales. As an organizational development and learning consultant, she has provided strategic planning, process alignment, change management, curriculum development & planning and learning solutions to a variety of clients such as pharma, healthcare, and state governments. Jan earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in information technology from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, as well as a Master’s of Education in Human Resource Development from Vanderbilt University, also in Nashville, Tennessee. She has served as adjunct faculty at the Peabody School of Vanderbilt University.
