Medication Management in Assisted Living-Part IV

As a general rule, caregivers assist residents with medications because the resident often has a physical or mental condition which limits their ability to self-administer their medication. When assisting residents, the caregiver must also be aware that the resident may experience side effects as a result of taking a medication. Part Four of this Medication Management course provides basic information about common medications and the side effects associated with these drugs, as well as how to respond when a resident encounters side effects and what information should be communicated to a resident's health care provider.
