Instructor: Mark McGovern, Ph.D.
Dr. Mark McGovern is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and of Community and Family Medicine at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth in New Hampshire. He is a practicing clinician and treatment services researcher with an expertise in behavioral health and psychosocial interventions for co-occurring substance use and psychiatric disorders. Dr. McGovern received a career development award from the National Institute on Drug Abuse focused on translating and transferring evidence-based treatments for co-occurring disorders into routine clinical settings. He is the primary developer of the Dual Diagnosis Capability in Addiction Treatment (DDCAT) Index, author of numerous scientific journal articles and clinician manuals on the assessment and treatment of co-occurring disorders, and he chairs a multi-state learning community funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Substance Abuse Policy Research Program and SAMHSA. He is also the Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment.
