In 2021, there were over 20,000 prescription drugs approved by the Federal Drug Administration, or FDA, for use. That number does not include the thousands of OTC, or over-the-counter medications. Each medication comes with potential side effects, ranging from mild to severe or even life threatening. It is important to be able to recognize and respond to drug side effects that your residents may experience. This course discusses common drug side effects and how to respond to them.
