Many people living with serious mental illness, or SMI, face barriers to employment. The resulting economic instability can lead to negative outcomes but with the right supports, people with SMI can find and keep jobs they enjoy. They can thrive in the workplace and have improved outcomes in many other areas of life, too. Individual Placement and Supports, or IPS, is a form of supported employment that helps people with SMI become successful members of the workforce. This course will give you an overview of this intervention and how it helps people who have SMI.
