He has worked as Chief Diversity Officer and Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion in higher-ed and, most recently as a DEI expert consultant on healthcare and corporate. Rojas Joo holds a Ph.D. from the University of Arizona in Hispanic Cultural Studies and a M.A. and B.A from the University of Texas in El Paso. Rojas Joo has certificates in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, intergroup dialogue, higher ed administration, and he is a published author and speaks, writes, and reads English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
