Population health encompasses a macroscopic evaluation of a population or disease state within a community. It considers health equity, literacy, and social determinants of health (SDOH) as well as bridging interdisciplinary healthcare sectors to improve patient outcomes. This course will discuss population health’s background and definition, as well as overarching and specific national population health initiatives. It will also discuss the role of nursing in population health in the communities they serve.
